A national record, three medals and a proud homecoming for Coimbatore’s Vithya Ramraj

Vithya Ramraj’s record run: How far has India come in the 400m hurdles?

She broke P.T. Usha’s 42-year-old record to win bronze, while also anchoring India to gold in the women’s 4×400m relay and silver in the mixed 4×400m relay. Vithya’s coach, Nehpal Singh Rathore, explains why she needed to train for both the 400m hurdles and the flat.
